Pickled Herring with Pickling Solution

Ingredients

Pickling Solution:

  • 3 dl water
  • 2 dl granulated sugar
  • 1 dl white vinegar (12% acidity)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 whole allspice berries
  • 1 red onion

Herring:

  • 500 g herring fillets
  • 1/2 bunch of dill
  • 1 dl coarse rye flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
