Ingredients

  • 250g plain flour
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 480ml milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 115g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. 4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  5. 5. Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or brush with melted butter.
  6. 6. Pour the batter onto the preheated waffle iron, using about 120ml of batter per waffle (adjust according to the size of your waffle iron).
  7. 7. Close the waffle iron and cook the waffles according to the manufacturer's instructions, or until golden brown and crisp.
  8. 8. Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
  9. 9. Serve the waffles warm with your favorite toppings, such as fresh berries, whipped cream, maple syrup, or Nutella.
